To start off, I’ve never been to Starbucks. I have never been to any Starbucks shop nor sipped a cup of frap from them. Why is this so? For practical reasons, I wouldn’t spend that much money on coffee. Another reason would be, I’m upset about some people looking at it as a status symbol.

This coffee craze has taken Philippine shores by storm. Almost every corner in the metro has these Starbucks shops, sometimes not even exceeding a mile from each other. I’ve seen people wear shirts that have the Starbucks logo on it. I don’t know what their purpose is but it seems to me that they want to know the world that they’ve been to Starbucks. Some even take pictures on their visit to this coffee shop. In my case, when I’m near a Starbucks outlet, I feel gloomy. I feel that I should never go near that place. I’m not being anti-social but I’m annoyed when people spend all their money on crap. This is what making our society more rotten than ever. Read the rest of this entry…

This was a great day. I cannot say anymore how grateful I am that this day turned out to be so nice. My enrollment which used to be the worst thing that a student should undertake to move on to another semester is now faster. And after paying my tuition, watching the film of the greatest entertainer of all, Michael Jackson, really made my day.

After receiving messages from some of my classmates that they were able to enroll earlier than the scheduled two in the afternoon, I immediately went my way to school. Arriving at the seminary gymnasium of UST, where enrolment always takes place, I saw no more long lines of student that I experience in the past. I just walked in and assessed my subjects.
