The Pressures of 2nd Semester and the Information Systems Discipline

Finally, I’m feeling the pressure of school works this semester. First was a 6-day schedule from Monday to Saturday from 7 in the morning up to 1 in the afternoon. That might sound normal but it’s difficult for me to wake up that early coming from an evening schedule last semester. I was used to sleeping at around 3 a.m. then waking up at 10 when the sun is already up. Then another would be my research paper more often than not called thesis. But it doesn’t stop there, we have to make a customer relation management system (CRM) for a company which by now we still don’t know. I’m tasked to head this CRM project and I hope we can do this smoothly or else we’re dead.


After the orientation for our thesis, we are given these topics to work on for the information systems (IS) discipline; e-Commerce, e-Governance, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Supply Chain Management (SCM), IT Auditing, Customer Relations Management (CRM), Decision Support System (DSS) and Expert Systems (ES). Thoughts to ponder on rallies from my SCL9 professor

I have this professor in SCL9 (Marriage and Family Life) who shared his sentiments on the student rally just a day before. They protest about the government’s inaction over the “Maguindanao Massacre”. I actually saw it for myself and in fact, I was recruited by some woman from the group. She talked about the party list group Kabataan which in Filipino means youth or young people. Going back to my professor, he said that he is disappointed every time there is a rally in front of our school. Not that he has no respect for their freedom of expression but what he points is how they can be more effective if they really want order in society.


He explains that every time protesters converge in front of our school especially on the road; they create heavy traffic which in turn affects the commuting students. That would be true for me because I always came late to class when there is a rally, from wage hike to tuition hike rallies for that matter. I am with them in their cause to fight injustice because I also see no progress in this current administration. Read the rest of this entry…
