Report on Survey Results, Microsoft in the Workplace Seminar

Microsoft in the Workplace was the title of the seminar held last August 1, 2009 at the Engineering Conference hall. The title is very appropriate as the occasion was all about Microsoft’s productivity tools for an office environment. The objectives were in line with the university’s commitment to the search of truth and knowledge for the reason that the speaker, Mr. Erico Dan T. Ocampo, did a great job on delivering the topic brought upon by the seminar. The content of his presentation was adequate to suit the attendees’ need for information about the latest in the software industry.

Sponsored by 3IS-A, the seminar which started as early as participants came, is very relevant to the section’s major, Information Systems. A close door policy implemented after 9am contributed to the program’s smooth flow as well as allotting time for the topics proportional. The activities were presented and executed effectively including an ice breaker in the middle of the event. Read the rest of this entry…

Reaction to “Microsoft in the Workplace” seminar

I arrived a little late that morning of August 1, 2009, thirty minutes to be exact. It was the date were me and my classmates proposed that a seminar be held. Early that morning, the news broke out that President Cory Aquino died and I was hooked for a while on the television, but that didn’t changed my fate of having to pay a hundred peso to one of my classmate assigned to collect a fine from those who came late. Outside the Engineering Conference hall were students falling patiently in line to register for our seminar entitled, Microsoft in the Workplace. The title made itself clear and explanation is not necessary that our invited speaker, Mr. Erico Dan T. Ocampo, would be discussing all about Microsoft products.

A close door policy was implemented after the strike of nine so that nobody would be walking inside and out the venue. There were almost a hundred forty students who participated and that was surprising for a seminar sponsored by students like us. We were the first, I think, to hold such this semester as a requirement for our subject SEM1. Everybody was eager to get their points completed and that is what I think, the reason everybody is in attendance. Students from all over the ICS department where there and all in their 3rd year well behaved in their seats. As the speaker prepares for his discussion Read the rest of this entry…
